•The Sultans of Maʿbar, also known as the Madurai Sultanate, ruled parts of southern Deccan from 1334 to 1377 CE. Emerging after the decline of the Delhi Sultanate's control, this short-lived Muslim dynasty played a key role in regional politics and trade. Their reign ended when the Vijayanagara Empire conquered the region.
