•The Ṣulayhid dynasty ruled parts of Yemen from 1047 to 1138 CE, with capitals in Ṣanʿāʾ and later Dhū Jibla. As a prominent Isma'ili Shia state, the Ṣulayhids unified much of Yemen, promoted trade, and fostered cultural and architectural development. Their reign marked a significant era in Yemeni history before the rise of the Ayyubids.
